FACTS from the whole BIBLE, 

and specifically the LAST book: REVELATION

A friend of mine on FB asked:

"if you go to hell for being bad, why do you suffer? 

Wouldn't Satan reward you?"

My responce was: Read Revelation. Satan is on the punishment list too.

But it's more complicated than that!

I'm blogging today because I would like to answer this question 

in full color and with great humility by the grace of God, my Lord.

Let's start out with:

Where is HELL referenced in the Bible?

Here are 2 out of 13 from Bible Gateway

(Technically 15, but 2 half-word results were not related). 

Luke chapter 12 NIV 

³ What you have said in the dark will be heard in the daylight, and what you have whispered in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed from the roofs. ⁴ “I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more.

 ⁵ But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear Him who, after your body has been killed, has authority to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear Him.

⁶ Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God.⁷ Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

2 Peter chapter 2 NIV

1# Satan, the Afflicter:

Job 1 NIV

⁸ Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil.”

⁹ “Does Job fear God for nothing?” Satan replied. ¹⁰ “Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land. ¹¹ But now stretch out your hand and strike everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face.”
¹² The Lord said to Satan, “Very well, then, everything he has is in your power, but on the man himself do not lay a finger.”

Job 2 NIV:  

⁴ “Skin for skin!” Satan replied. “A man will give all he has for his own life. ⁵ But now stretch out your hand and strike his flesh and bones, and he will surely curse you to your face.”
⁶ The Lord said to Satan, 

“Very well, then, he is in your hands; but you must spare his life.”

2 Corinthians 12 NIV 

⁷ or because of these surpassingly great revelations. Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me.

CHAPTER 42 NIV

Surely I spoke of things I did not understand,  
things too wonderful for me to know.

⁷ After the Lord had said these things to Job, he said to Eliphaz the Temanite, 

“I am angry with you and your two friends, because you have not 

spoken the truth about me, as my servant Job has."

¹⁰ After Job had prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his fortunes 

and gave him twice as much as he had before. 

  

 2# Satan, the Accuser: Zechariah 3 NIV 

1Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and  

Satan^[a] standing at his right side to accuse him.

1Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted^[a] by the devil.

Ephesians 6 NIV

 ¹¹ Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 

 

4# Satan, the Deceiver:

23 Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns.”

 2 Corinthians 11 NIV

¹⁴ And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.  

Revelation 20 NIV 

⁷ When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison ⁸ and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth—Gog and Magog—and to gather them for battle. In number they are like the sand on the seashore.

 

5# Satan, the Thief:  

Mark 4 NIV

¹⁵ Some people are like seed along the path, where the word is sown. 
As soon as they hear it, Satan comes and takes away the word that was sown in them.

John 10 NIV 

¹⁰ The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; 
I (Jesus) have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

6# Satan, the fallen Angel: Isaiah 14 NIV

 ¹² How you have fallen from heaven, morning star, son of the dawn!
You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations!   

¹³ You said in your heart, “I will ascend to the heavens; 

I will raise my throne above the stars of God; 

I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of Mount Zaphon.^[b] 

¹⁴ I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.” 

 

   

7# Satan, Less powerful than Jesus, God's Son:

<sup>Luke 10 NIV 

17</sup> The seventy-two returned with joy and said, “Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name.”
¹⁸ He replied, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.  

¹⁹ I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. ²⁰ However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”

Revelation 2 NIV 

²⁴ Now I say to the rest of you in Thyatira, to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets, ‘I will not impose any other burden on you,  
²⁵ except to hold on to what you have until I come.’ ²⁶ To the one who is victorious and does my will to the end, I will give authority over the nations—  ²⁷ that one ‘will rule them with an iron scepter and will dash them to pieces like pottery’^[a]—just as I have received authority from my Father.

Revelation 12 NIV

⁹ The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.

Revelation 20 NIV 

¹⁰ And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into 
the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast 
and the false prophet had been thrown. 
They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
 ¹¹ Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. 
The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them.  
¹² And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne,
 and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. 
The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books.

The lake of fire is the second death.

thrown into the lake of fire.
